The Jury of the Mérites de l'Economie reveals its Coup de Cœur Prize

On Thursday 09 September, representatives of the economic community and political bodies of the Riviera-Lavaux region met in the Hôtel des Trois Couronnes in Vevey in order to attend the awards ceremony for the Coup de Coeur Prize awarded by the Jury of the Mérites de l'Economie Riviera-Lavaux, and to finally congratulate the 6 winning companies of the 2020 edition, announced last year during a virtual Ceremony.

The event, which was hosted by M. Thierry Vial, editor-in-chief of PME Magazine, and M. Stéphane Pommaz, President of Promove, opened with addresses from the Councillor of State Mme Christelle Luisier Brodard and commune Syndic M. Yvan Luccarini.  After the prizewinners took to the stage, André Berdoz, Jury chair for the Mérites 2020 and vice-president of USAM, revealed the winner of the Coup de Coeur Prize and awarded the trophy to Cinérive SA, represented by M. Yves Moser, former director.  Mme Meryl Moser, current director, received the news via a special screen set up for the event, as she is currently in Venice as a member of the jury of the International Film Festival.

The members of the Jury were keen to showcase this family business created in Vevey in 1933, today providing 80 jobs across its 13 cinemas in Swiss Romandie.  Faced with sanitary measures, like so many others, Cinérive SA has managed to bounce back by diversifying its activity and had recently successfully developed two escape rooms in addition to its restaurant and open air programming offered across the region.

This soiree was also an opportunity to thank the principal partners of the regional economy awards, the BCV and Vaudoise Assurances, and to announce the 3rd edition of the Mérites de l’Economie.  Applications will be open from February to April 2022 and the awards Ceremony will take place on 17 November 2022 at the Centre de Congrès of Montreux.
